Video: The Blair Witch Project (1999) Deep Dive

The Blair Witch Project

We are taking a deep dive into The Blair Witch Project (1999), the 1999 American supernatural found footage horror movie directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez. The Blair Witch Project is based on the purportedly true story of three student filmmakers, Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard, who hike in the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland in 1994 to film a documentary about a local legend known as the Blair Witch. The three disappeared, but their equipment and footage is discovered a year later. The “recovered footage” is the film the viewer sees.

I will discuss some little known facts about the film and the amazing marketing campaign behind The Blair Witch Project.
